Death is the end of life, the irreversible cessation of all biological functions that sustain a living organism. Death eventually and inevitably occurs in all organisms.

As of the early 21st century, 56 million people die per year. As of 2022, an estimated total of almost 110 billion humans have died, or roughly 94% of all humans to have ever lived.

Many cultures and religions have a concept of an afterlife. There are also different customs for honoring the body, such as a funeral, cremation, or sky burial. After a death, an obituary may be posted in a newspaper, and the "survived by" kin and friends usually go through the grieving process.

The topic of death is near and dear to my heart, as someone who worships nature and all within it. Death is simply a part of life.
A part of the cycle that keeps us all moving.

In divination, primary in tarot, the death card is a means of change. An end to something old - a start of something new. Maybe a path has been opened, or a better understanding of something unknown. Or maybe just a much needed change.
And in dreams, death can also be interpret as a warning sign, that something may need to be done. Something needs to change. But in this aspect, it feels much more direct. Urgent, in a way.
